Confidence

Confidence

I was inspired to create this after watching a short keynote that John Cleese (Monty Python creator) gave on Creativity. He describes an excellent formula on how to be more creative and how to combat the things that keep one from getting there. The full quote from the poster above is, “Confidence. When you are in your space/time oasis getting into the open mode nothing will stop you being creative so effectively as the fear of making a mistake.” This is profound because I know so many creatives that battle with the same thing (including myself), FEAR. Fear to make a mistake, or fear that what you create won’t be good enough. John simply states, “MAKE MISTAKES”, because that ‘mistake’ will most likely lead to your solution. Have confidence in yourself and your abilities. Take that step, put that pencil to paper, you may surprise yourself.
